It’s never easy to run your own business. From mom and pop coffee shops to the next-big-thing in startup scene, taking your career into your own hands takes courage, discipline, and vision. For the talented few who make it in the stock media market, the hustle is a key component to creating stunning stock video and images for the next generation. Since the launch of our video and images marketplaces, we’ve been lucky enough to attract some of the best in the biz—and we’re here to introduce you to the faces and stories behind the camera.
So without further ado, we’re happy to present six of our most successful and inspiring contributors.
With a deep-rooted passion for travel and exploration, Stef was never likely to spend his days behind a desk. In fact, it was this very desire to see and experience the world that inspired him to become a filmmaker and videographer. Exploring other countries, experiencing different cultures, and approaching new situations with an open mind all added to his ever increasing sense of curiosity—and a degree in international relations and Asian studies. Yet, despite his degree, Stef found that going somewhere and talking to people on the road was the only way to begin to grasp the complex world we live in.
Although he’s worked in various fields, he quickly discovered that there is nothing he’d rather do than pack his bags and set off to a new location. Producing stock footage has given him the opportunity and freedom to do what he loves most: travel, explore, and research. Always with a camera in hand, of course.
Justin Tierney of JTimelapse
Justin is an award-winning time-lapse filmmaker. His most recent project, At the Conflux, was even described by the BBC as “a futuristic rollercoaster ride.” Combining time-lapse images and original music to produce an entirely original film, Conflux explores the rhythm of Japanese cityscapes. And we’re not the only ones who think it’s pretty rad—it even received 1st Place at the 2016 Time-Lapse Film Festival in LA! Adding to his already impressive resume, Jusin’s time-lapse works are used by companies such as Apple, Audi, Volkswagen and Westinghouse. He holds graduate degrees from Yale, Tufts, and a PhD from Duke University. When he isn’t working, Justin spends time with his wife and son and bouncing between the USA and Japan.
Kev (Kevin) Klopper of VisualMagic
“Filmmaker, Director, Photographer, Producer, Entrepreneur. I’m also a caffeine dependent life-form, but I’m trying to drink less Red Bull these days.”
Kev’s passion for cinematography started early. At 16 he bought his first Russian camera, a Lomo LC-A, and was inspired by the camera’s impressive low light capabilities—after all, it was originally designed for Russian spies! But despite his talent and interest, it seemed for a while that photography and videography would have to remain a hobby for Kev—that is, until he turned 21 and finally overturned his dad’s decision not to allow him to go to photography school. Although the program was tough, Kev credits those years as totally worth it, allowing him to turn his biggest passion into his career. These days, he employs a whole team to share the fun with.
As he says, “life is good.”

Roberto and Diego of Dualstock
Dualstock is the brainchild of Diego Cervo and Roberto Fumagalli from Milan.
Before coming together to create Dualstock, Roberto worked as a photojournalist and travel photographer while Diego was an already established stock photographer. They met entirely by chance at the end of 2008 and a few months later Dualstock was born with the idea of launching into the growing stock video market. Their first real shoot was in an office basement with low budget cameras and equipment., Since then they’ve come along way, as the encouraging results from their early efforts meant that they could continue pour more resources into the production of stock videos and grow their successful partnership.
Authenticity is an hallmark of Dualstock productions: real people in everyday situations. They recognized this shift in the advertising market and their intuition has payed off with increased sales and exposure.
Diego and Roberto are best friends and they always enjoy working together. Being able to manage their time and projects as they please is something they will never work and live without.
Raki Halder of Themediastock
